As you can tell from how quiet it has been on this blog, a lot has been happening lately. My life situation and plans have changed a lot in the past two months. Soon I'll be moving away from the beautiful mountain town of Engelberg and becoming a citizen of the equally beautiful city of Lucerne. I work and I will soon go to school in this city so it only makes sense to find a 1-room apartment here.

I've been in a pretty big slump lately but since the sun has been shining I've been feeling a teensy bit better. And now that I'm actively looking at rentals, I'm already dreaming about how I'll decorate and what I'd like to buy (mostly from IKEA, of course...).

I'd love to hang some fabric and fairy lights above and beside my bed. They are just so pretty and dreamy - and girly!

The ALVINE KVIST bedspread and pillow set from IKEA. I've always liked and had dark brown furniture and bedding (leopard!) and now I'm gravitating more towards lighter shades. I'd rather have more neutral bedding and furniture, so that I can play with colored decorations, etc.

I've seen so many fun bar carts on different blogs and I'd love to have my own. I found this incredibly cute cart in turquoise - the RASKOG cart from IKEA. Obviously a must-have...duh. Cosmopolitans here I come!

I'm really liking this piece of furniture for a couple of reason: It's for your TV, duh; You can store a crap-load of DVD's and since I personally own a crap-load of DVD's, this would come in handy; You can also put decorations on top, like a plan or candles or picture frames. Multi-purpose, I like it!

These are the FEJKA fake orchids from IKEA. I've always liked the idea of fake plants because, let's face it, I definitely don't have a green thumb (my thumb is black or any other color) and this way I could enjoy pretty plants which won't go and die on me.

So, we don't have Bath and Body Works in Switzerland (I know, ridiculous right?!). I'm planning a trip to Miami in July with a friend and I'm going to buy ALL THE CANDLES at BABW - they are just so delicious. I bought some body sprays and lotions while I was in Poland and I'm absolutely loving the scents Warm Vanilla Sugar and Velvet Sugar...mmmhhh....

Last but not least, I'd love to have a table and chairs on my (hopefully existent) balcony. Not all 1-room apartments have balconies at all so I'm hoping to find an apartment with a normal-sized balcony where I can hang out in the sunshine and offer my friends cosmo's and margaritas. This is the ASKHOLMEN garden furniture set from IKEA.

Do any of you live in a very small apartment? Any tips on how to decorate small spaces?
