My Funny Valentine
February 14, 2014
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
I've always loved this quote and it's obviously very appropriate for today :)
I've never been one to celebrate V-Day though. Don't get me wrong - I love all the hype around Christmas, New Year's and all that, but I have to agree with the other side when it comes to V-Day. It's just over-hyped and I think it's weird to have a day where you're expected to tell the people you love that you love them and girls expect a gift from their boyfriends/husbands/girlfriends/wives etc.
But, I'll stop being a Debbie downer and share some laughs with you on this grand day.
And, TGIF, ya know what I'm sayin'? Oh ya.
Russian wedding pictures. These definitely got an LOL out of me. Enjoy.
Epic Valentine's Day Rap Battle by Superwoman and FouseyTube. Too funny.
Funny Vintage Valentine's Day Cards. My fave is #19. "You are O.K." Doesn't get more romantical than that.

Camp Takota freakin' finally comes out today! I pre-ordered and will be watching tonight after work, thank you very much. (And if you don't know what I'm talking about then you've been living under a rock. Or just a non-youtube-watching rock.)

Have an awesome & safe Valentine's Day!

I agree - it's over hyped but I use it as an excuse to buy myself presents ;) Thanks for the links! I've been loving the funny valentines cards haha, had to stop myself from buying one that just said 'You'll do' cause it made me giggle (don't think he'd have appreciated it). Found you on the bloghop, looking forward to your future posts!

Hi Alice! Oh, I totally agree with taking advantage of any opportunity to gift oneself ;) I really like that you wrote a blog post with ideas about what to buy yourself - love! The V-Day cards were so funny, I love quirky cards. I would've bought the "You'll do" card haha too funny! That's awesome to hear you came from the bloghop, I'm also looking forward to your posts :)
Deletei have never understood the hype about valentine's day either! of course i don't like flowers & expensive dinners so that may be why! it just always seemed so forced.... i would much rather be given something on a random day "just because" :)
ReplyDeletebut i love the discounts on chocolate afterwards!
Hi Robyn, I see you found me! Yay! :) I agree with you 100%. I actually do enjoy the odd flower or going out for meals etc. but I just don't like how it's expected of you on that one day. I'd much rather enjoy time with the people I love, tell them I love them, any time of the year :) And definitely more often than just on ONE day!
