Calysto: Handmade Jewelry

November 20, 2013

Hi guys!

Today I wanted to show you and introduce you to my sister Daisy's handmade jewelry collection called Calysto. She makes beautiful, unique and creative pieces all by herself!

Last weekend, there was a Koffermarkt (=suitcase market) in Lucerne where people where able to book a spot and sell their own handmade creations out of a suitcase! What a cute idea. And from what I've heard, these types of suitcase markets take place in many different cities in Europe.

Daisy also showed her jewelry collection at the market and I took a few shots :)

She had this old brown leather suitcase and of course, you have to get creative if you don't have too much room so she hung her earrings on a leather band running along the top half of the suitcase.

In the bottom half, she displayed necklaces, pins and some bracelets. She also took advantage of the space around her suitcase to display some further items such as bracelets, rings, and charms.

As you can see, her jewelry is very vibrant, colorful, diverse and fun!

In both the above photos you can see how Daisy also gets creative with the way she displays her jewelry. In the first photo, you see a bracelet holder which she put together using wine bottle corks and decorated them with colorful stones. And to display her necklaces, she used pieces of cardboard and spray painted them in various colors. This way, it was easy and quick to flip through them.

I naturally had to purchase something when I visited her at the market, so here's what I got :)

I love how unique the necklace is pictured above. And, they're the perfect colors for the fall season :)

This second necklace has a bit more of an ethereal vibe in my opinion. It looks like an antique piece and I love how the stones are very neutral so you can wear this necklace with practically anything!

So, definitely go on over to Calysto's Facebook page HERE and check out the photo's of her jewelry collection. It'd be great if you could click the "like" button and show your support :)
And, don't worry about not living in the area, shipping is definitely possible on any order! Just send her a message on her Facebook page if you have any questions.

And, if you're from the area (Lucerne/Nidwalden/Obwalden etc.) then maybe you'd like to make a pit-stop in Stans for a Christmas market at Zeythuis! This is a house in Stans which was converted into a studio space by many different creative minds. They work there and also show their artwork in this house during markets and exhibitions. My sister also has her own creative space for Calysto in the house and she'll be showing her jewelry at the CHRISTMAS MARKET coming up
on December 7th & 8th! Here are the details:

Zeythuis Wiänachtsmärt
Engelbergstrasse 29, 6370 Stans
Saturday 1pm - 9pm
Sunday 11am - 6pm

There will be jewelry, baked treats, various artwork (paintings, art made out of wood, etc.), Christmas decorations made of ceramic, knitted items and MORE!

I hope to see you there!!
