Christmas Gift Ideas (last minute)
December 23, 2013
I know, I know, this post (as well as the gift ideas) is pretty last minute, but I still wanted to share a few of my gift ideas which are mostly DIY (do it yourself).
I think DIY gifts are always thoughtful and interesting - and I love gifting them as well as receiving them. So here's what I chose to gift a few of my best girlfriends.
This is a DIY candle which is supposed to look like a hot chocolate with whipped cream and pieces of candy cane on top. I followed THIS tutorial and I love how hers came out! I didn't have all the right material (couldn't find any soy wax and the mugs I found were too tall and not short and wide like hers) so not everything went according to plan but I think these still came out pretty cute. I used cinnamon and orange scented oils for the candle so they'll definitely smell good :)
I also made some popcorn (regular microwave popcorn) and covered it in a delicious concoction of butter, salt, cinnamon and sugar. YUM. Got this idea and recipe from Sophie Jane's blog. So easy and so scrumptious.
Here's another idea on how to pack up the popcorn - pour it into a fun Christmassy mug and presto, two gifts in one!
And the last idea is this store-bought chocolate-on-a-stick which you dip into hot milk and stir. This makes a yummy hot chocolate drink. I'm sure there's an easy way to also make this yourself - I'll need try it out. But, here I also added a Christmassy mug to the sweet treat and this makes a really sweet gift.
Hope everyone's got all their gifts ready and wrapped for tomorrow (or the 25th).
Have a great day/night!
