Delicious Winter Tea

December 10, 2013

I enjoyed a cup of this scrumptious tea over the weekend and thought I'd share. Are there any other tea lovers out there? :)

Especially in the winter months, it's so nice to cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy a warm cup of sweet tea with a kick of spice. And if it's (kind of) homemade, than even better!

Here's a recipe I thought some of you may enjoy.

I used one tea bag of the Pukka Vanilla Chai tea. This is a fairtrade, organic, caffeine-free, herbal tea with cinnamon, cardamom and sweet vanilla. The ingredients also include ginger (which is warming), fennel and licorice.

I thought I'd get creative so I added half a teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice which I bought off of American Food Avenue. This is an awesome online shop based in Switzerland where you can purchase American food, snacks, baking items and more. Most of these products you can't get anywhere in Swiss stores.

A spoonful of honey keeps the doctor away - is that the way the saying goes? ;) I love adding honey to my tea as a sweetener, since it's healthier than white sugar and adds such a lovely taste. This honey is made by my boyfriend's father in Bosnia so it's uber-healthy and organic!

Since the pumpkin pie spice and honey weren't enough for me, I went for 2 teaspoons of this Hazelnut Syrup from Bodum. You can find these types of syrups in a lot of shops and there are many different flavors available. I'm not a big fan of "nutty" flavors but I somehow enjoy just a touch of this syrup added to tea or coffee (although I'm not the biggest coffee drinker).

So there you have it, my delicious, scrumptious, cuddle-up-in-your-jammies-and-lay-on-the-couch-all-Sunday tea!

(^^oops, there's a sneek-peak of my festive nail look which is coming up soon!)

And here's a bonus photo which I took over the weekend :) Our puppy Bentley and my boyfriend in the background. Isn't that little puppy face just too cute?!
